Spring is Finally Here!
Posted on June 27 2026
What were you doing on April 1st of this year? Chris and I were glued to our t.v. as the Artemis II mission began. What a fascinating journey to watch unfold!
April also brought another visit from the Easter Bunny :) Totally spoiled!
And we had several family events including Easter dinner and this rare moment of Chris holding a child (our great niece). So cute!
Our nephews, who have been living out of the province for a couple of years, came back to work for the summer and with that they brought the music. They started recording an album in our basement and they also had a show that we went to see:

At Christmas, Chris' sister, Pam gave us a gift certificate for Spotlight Caberet and we all went for dinner and a musical. It was so much fun, I would highly recommend it. The show and food were superb!

Judy and I were busy working on new jewelry and art pieces for the shop at the Art Gallery of Alberta. Have you been in? It's a wonderful store full of Alberta artists work, a great stop to buy unique gifts. These are our framed paintings and below that some of the jewelry we put in:

We finally got out to picnic in May (the plate in front of my Mom is food for her dog, we stick to cheese burgers) ~

More outdoor visits started to happen and our world began to come alive again:

I started going for more walks in the woods with my Merlin app (do you have it? It's a lot of fun to identify birds by their songs, it's like a treasure hunt):
Chris and I also went to see The Arkells, which was a lot of fun. I haven't been to a concert for quite some time and they did a tour playing at smaller venues so it was a lot more close up and personal:

And right into June we went on a cruise to Alaska with a group of family and friends to celebrate Chris' sister Pam's special birthday. We spent 7 days at sea and at stops in Alaska including Sitka, Juneau, Ketchican and back in Canada we stopped at Prince Rupert. Thankfully, the scenery was stunning, the weather was wonderful and the company was convivial. Here's a few photos form the trip:

Since being back, we've spent a lot of time in the yard getting it summer ready. The weather here, however, isn't cooperating. Lots of rain and lots of mosquitoes at the moment. Hopefully, July will bring more enjoyable weather.
Here's to a fun summer!
